About Dr. Marine Lipartia
NUMEO Medical was founded by Dr. Marine Lipartia with the goal of utilizing evidence-based excellence in obesity medicine care to inform a comprehensive and personalized approach to treating patients.
Dr. Lipartia was born and raised in Tbilisi, Georgia. She graduated from medical school with honors before moving to the United States to complete her training in internal medicine. She went on to spend eleven years practicing as a hospitalist in major hospitals, including the Harvard-affiliated Massachusetts General Hospital. It was there, caring for patients admitted with the wide-ranging complications of obesity, that she found her calling: to focus her practice on treating this disease at its root. She focuses particularly in reversing metabolic diseases, such as diabetes, fatty liver disease, and metabolic syndrome, through proper nutrition.
Dr. Lipartia is among a select group of obesity medicine specialists to have undergone rigorous academic fellowship training in obesity medicine and nutrition. She is board-certified in both internal medicine and obesity medicine, and is an active member of The Obesity Society and the Obesity Medicine Association. She teaches nationally and internationally, and devotes her personal time to providing free consultations to colleagues in her home country of Georgia.
